The CEO’s Personal Financial Planning Tools

CEO Personal Financial Planning

I cannot prove this, but I think I write more than any other CFO or small-business financial advisory firm. Accordingly, I am compelled to read a lot, especially the content that shows up daily on my LinkedIn feed. I do so because I don’t want to be rambling about the same material everyone else does. Also, I don’t want to be dull and boring like the young Johnny Cash was in that studio scene in the movie, Walk the Line.

Oddly, I have never seen a discussion on personal financial planning and tracking for CEOs. In this brief discussion, I’ll walk you through my preferred layout, which also includes market-based net assets that will be relevant whether it’s your first or next discussion for bank financing, estate planning, or family office annual updates.

As a small bonus, I’m going to expose you to some behavioral finance 101 that will be useful with your financial advisor meetings.
